The support you deserve

I help people heal from trauma and move forward in a healthy way. Prioritizing your mental and emotional health should be as important as your physical health. If you neglect one or the other, everything is off. Everyone wants to feel heard and validated for their emotions and feelings.

About

I listen, validate and provide support.

You aren't broken, you're unhealed. Welcome! My name is Iliamari Vazquez Houston, LCSW, and I am a professional Social Worker. I am taking new clients and have immediate availability for sessions. My focus and goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgemental space for you and incorporate a holistic approach for healing. In this space, we will focus on what you need and build towards processing trauma. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy techniques to help process past trauma(s). I also incorporate other techniques such as Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Talk Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Grounding, and Walk and Talk Therapy. From the very first session we start building rapport and discussing your goals to what modalities we could use and how it can help heal. This is your journey, not mine. I meet you where you are at, you are the guide and I am your support. I am an EMDR trained, Run/Walk/Talk certified, IFS informed, trauma therapist with expertise in; maternal mental health, family issues, boundaries work, anxiety, stress, grief/loss, and intergenerational cycles and trauma. The last 15 years I have worked in a variety of settings w/diverse communities. My experience allows you to feel heard and validated in order to make healthy improvements. It's about progress over perfection. We are human with complex emotions and needs. My focus is to provide a safe, nonjudgemental space for you with a holistic approach. EMDR Intensives - When processing trauma via EMDR, sometimes a 50-55 minute session might not be enough. This can be due to the typical check in at the beginning, working through other issues that have come up since the last session, and then trying to process in the time that is left; it can feel rushed. If you feel you could benefit from a longer EMDR session, we can discuss if an EMDR intensive session (2+ hours) is appropriate. We would develop a plan together on how to work towards EMDR intensives. EMDR intensives can help clear out trauma in a quicker manner with less sessions overall. I look forward to working with you through your therapeutic journey.
